Google Blog Search is announced
And what better way to spread the news than on a blog? I gave the service a try this morning and I must say, it deserves to be part of the Google family. While Technorati and other blog search engines I've tried seem to return rather chaotic lists of results ordered by date, Google Blog Search defaults to searches based on relevance (you have the option to sort by date as well). I prefer this ranking methodology because quality content can easily be buried by junk content simply because the junk is more recent. This is a major shortcoming that makes some other blog search engines less valuable to me...not to mention the flood of ping-spam that makes finding good content a very difficult task.
